There’s a website called IncomeAtHome.com and I’m wondering if anyone has used it and what they think of it. Is it a scam? Is it just for some people and not most people? Is anyone making money with it?

From what I can tell, it’s a marketing system by a company called Online Business Systems for selling Herbalife or something like that. I have heard the ads on Sean Hannity and other radio shows. They seem to advertise on CareerBuilder and Monster.com as well.

It would seem that any business that wants some huge upfront cost to get you into it would be a scam. They would just want to make money off of people who really want to make some money at home but then not support them or have them buy into even more. This would be in poor taste in my opinion since times are really tough and some people really need a good, at-home business opportunity.

Back in November and December 2005, I set up some software on a website that made an Amazon store on that website. It was the perfect storm because the domain had some age, it had another store on it previously that wasn’t doing so well and it was Christmas. In just 2 short months I made $4400. I remember checking my Amazon account every day and seeing over $100 in earnings per day. That was pretty cool.

I then kept trying some things without too much success but I had a taste of success for sure. I was running Google AdSense on a site and it was doing ok. I was making like $300 a month with it. I then thought that if I had 45 websites making $1 per day, I could have my mortgage paid every month. I bought some domains and then started working on some small websites with content. This was in 2008. I set them up but I really didn’t have a roadmap or plan, so I was searching for that.

So you want to learn how to make money at home. If you’re like most people in your position, you will waste hundreds or even thousands of dollars trying to learn a process that will provide you with income from home. See, there are thousands upon thousands of money hungry, selfish, and unethical people who are looking to take advantage of a person on your position. They see you as nothing more than an easy way to make a quick buck.

You may think that you are immune. You may think that you can smell a rat. If this is what you think, I would recommend going ahead and trying some of the worthless garbage that’s out there. At some point, you’ll figure out that you get about 500 emails per day from people that aren’t telling you anything worthwhile. At that point, come back.

I can tell you that less than 5% of you will make it. Why? Because most of you are looking for easy money. Most of you are probably too lazy to make this work. What will you do? Learning how to make money from home in reality isn’t that different from the process any business owner goes through. You will have to find something that is in need, and figure out a method that you can use to fill that need. That might sound difficult right now, but I think that I can help you with that process.

Why Learning How To Make Money at Home Is Freaking Hard

1. 99% of the supposed ‘teachers’ are mad scammers, that happen to be extremely good at what they do.

2. Working from home requires supreme discipline.

3. You will have to learn something from the ground up – this will take a lot of time and energy.

4. Running your own business takes a remarkable amount of patience.

5. You may be working with absolutely no results for a year or more.

6. There can be constant distractions from kids or a spouse.

For the last three years, I have made 100% of my income working from home. I’m not going to fill you full of fluff and tell you that it has been an easy process. During almost an entire year, I spent more than I made. That was freaking hard. Part of me wishes that I had created the income while working on the side, but that’s another topic altogether. The point is, I made it and you can too. However, it’s going to take a lot of work and a commitment to excellence.

How I Make my Money From Home

I have a very strange business. I provide free information that brings people to websites, and then sell ad space on those websites. It works great for me because I have a knack for filling needs that aren’t being taken care of very well. Once I have identified an area that could use some good information, I create a website and start posting that information.

You probably found this article by doing a search for ‘how to make money at home’, ‘how to make money from home’, or something similar. See what I did to bring you here? I created some useful information and what happened? You and hundreds of other people find me in Google, or Yahoo, or MSN. You come to this site, where I can sell ad space to advertisers who are looking for people like you. Interesting, isn’t it?

As you read this article, I am probably asleep or messing around with some friends. I still make cash because I have created a valuable asset. This last year, I went to Cabo with some friends. We had a really fun week. I made more while I was gone than it cost to go. What happened to my friends? They lost money because they took work off. Hmm… I took work off and made money.

This is where other people will start to butter you up telling you how freaking smart they are. They will tell you that their ’system’ is the only way to internet millions. Their system probably is a way to internet millions – to them. $100 or so dollars at a time taken from good people like you gives them all the money they will ever need. They will even provide you with proof.

I’m not going to blow smoke – if you want to learn this business it will be hard. I will show you the basics of what you need to know, but it won’t be that easy. The first thing you need to do is read about SEO on my site – it all starts there. Without knowing it, you probably found this article because of that concept. You searched for something related to making money from home and bam, I came up in Google in a location where you could find me. I teach people how to do that.

The series of articles I wrote about SEO have become so popular that I’ve summarized them in an easy to read email mini-course. This really spoke to me. I had looked at other programs and I liked the honesty and how this was written. Perfect! This is worth trying!

I signed up and paid like $600 to get into a short, online training class where I’d learn Court’s techniques. It was a bit to take in but it made sense. It was worth it. I finally had a heading and started using Court’s program.

Shortly after that, they started The Keyword Academy. I then basically became a charter member of that group and that’s where I remain. The cost right now is just $33 per month, so it’s much cheaper and it’s the same thing.

I’m making a few times more than my mortgage now and am doing it right. It took some time, yes – I’d say 10 months before I started making decent money. That’s why most people will quit. They want money tomorrow. Well, if you’re willing to work for free for a while, then it’ll pay off – big. I started my parents on this program, too, because they wanted some extra money as they retire and now that they are 10 months in, they are starting to make some money, too.

What I couldn’t get over once I got into this was the fact that there are people who do not have 9-5 jobs. Their job is to work whenever they want on whatever they want. They make enough money to cover all of their monthly expenses and more. It’s a job that builds on itself. You continually get paid for the work that you put in months ago – not just the last 2 weeks. That is how work should be. Why would anyone want to get stuck in a job where they are not building something for themselves?

The way I explain this to my friends is that I’m like Donald Trump online. I have properties (website and web pages) in prime locations (at the top of search results). I have tenants (ads that run on my websites) whom I collect from every month. There’s not much you have to do when you own the property except keep things current and make sure you always have the best location. It does take some time to build that property (construction) but after that, it’s yours and you can build as many as you want.

I just got back from about a week long ski trip in Colorado. The snow was awesome! We had several powder days.

Last Saturday, I was at Vail and met up with a guy I knew that could actually be one of the examiners I have when I take my Level 2 Exam but that day he was my guide. I got to know him a little better, which was good (it can only help when I take my exam). Anyway, he took me through some of the best powder I’ve ever encountered. To get there and get through it, I had to work – work like mad!

At the end of the day, I was completely exhausted but had a huge sense of accomplishment just knowing what I went through. If I had been on my own, I would have taken the easy runs and also would not have known what I missed out on.

Another weird things was, at the beginning of the day, my boots were frozen. I had left them in the car, which was outside and I could not get my feet into them. I tried and tried and almost just called off the whole day. Finally, after 15-20 minutes of them sitting under the heater in the car, I was able to get into them. Earlier that morning, I thought I lost the keys to the rental car but found them. As I was making my way over to my friend, a snowboarder and I got tangled up on a lift – his buckle got caught in my brake.

The point is, I had a million and one reasons to give up. I was so close to doing it. I had skied a few days and knew I could use the break, too. But I didn’t give up. I kept on going. The same is true with how I’ve learned to make money online with the Keyword Academy.

At first, there was nothing. I’d check my revenue and it would be a few cents. It was that way for a couple of months even. Many, many people do give up at that point. But you can’t do that. Keep going. Have faith. Know that your work will pay off. For me, I kept pressing on and am enjoying the rewards. If you’re the kind of person that will give up, then honestly you should not waste your time with any kind of Internet marketing – you won’t be able to handle it and you’ll waste your time when you could be working at McDonald’s or something. That’s my advice to you.

Today, I went to the store today to get a few groceries. You know, some produce, eggs, meat, bottled water and stuff like that. I think the 2 pounds of chicken and the steak were the most expensive items. Anyway, I just realized here tonight as I write this that it was all for free. Yeah, I earned that much money online today and it covered my groceries for just over a week. Free groceries for a week. Not bad.

Forget worrying about coupons, make money online people!

Keyword Research = Easy

I have to give it up to Mark and Court. They just launched a free tool for us Keyword Academy users that really simplifies keyword research. I ran 2500 keywords through the system just today and it only took minutes. It’s amazing. It’s all about picking the right keywords when you set up keyword websites.  I think I’ve said this before but it’s like taking a reading on a map and compass to go somewhere and if you’re just 1 degree off, then you will end up hundreds of miles off course. To end up where you want to be, you need the right keywords. There is just no doubt about that.
