Report: 30 in 30 in June

by admin on July 5, 2009

OK, here’s my report on the assignment I gave myself last month, 30 in 30 in June, where I write 30 in 30 days.

Well, it’s nice here in Wisconsin in summer. If you’ve ever lived here, you know that you need to take advantage of it when you can. It feels like it could snow at any minute sometimes. So I’ve been out and about which contributed to me not hitting my goal. I was able to do 15 unique , which is still pretty good in my book:

My biggest success was when I wrote an article last week and put it out on Unique Article Wizard (UAW). I’ve been getting pinkbacks like crazy. That was only the 2nd article I did that way and the first time, the site was not running WordPress, so I didn’t see the pingbacks. The site that I did UAW and these is getting a little more traffic already. So I know it was worth it.

The biggest surprise I got last month was with an article I wrote on my own blog. It has been steadily been getting over 500 views a day and on Friday, it got over 1500 views. Not bad. I couldn’t believe it when I looked at AdSense and saw all the clicks. That was sweet but especially sweet because this weekend I went to buy a car that I’d consider a collector and ended up not buying it after seeing what shape it really was in. I had to fly there and then book a return trip as well, so that was about $700 down the drain. Oh well – you live and learn but now I’m even more motivated to get these sites performing better.

So my plan now is to do 1 UAW article per week. It really does increase PageRank and you move up in the rankings.

Another goal of mine is to post at least 1 new article per month for every site I have.

My remaining time will be spent getting inbound links and tweaking the sites from looking at my stats.

I’ve also got one other site I started working on, so I need to get that one totally up and running. It’s related to another site I have, so it should be easy to do. I think I’m going to work on a number of sites in 2 niches that I have started so that my sites become true authorities in those areas. That’s a long term goal. But I also know that you don’t want all your eggs in one (or two) baskets, so I’ve got some other sort of random sites out there that I’ll continue to work on.

I think I’ll work on about 10 main sites. Once 1 gets to be where it’s doing well, I’ll put it on auto-pilot and start a new one but that won’t be for a while.

My goal by the end of the year is to get enough AdSense income to pay my mortgage. Less than 6 months left! I better “get crackin’.”
