So Amazon changed their API and developers had until Aug 15th to change their code. Like most people, I hate upgrading site software. You have to be really careful and things break. It’s time consuming. Well, I’ve been kind of not well for the last week, so doing that chore was literally the last thing on my mind. I might get to it this weekend.
In the meantime, those sites are not showing products on them. There is some error that people see but all the pages are still listed in Google and there’s traffic to them AND I have AdSense on those pages – so guess what? People see the ads, which is what they want and they’re clicking on those ads. I’m actually getting more revenue from those sites (right now) being broken than when they’re working!
Which tells you that content is king. The content can be products, of course. So really, the best way for things to work is unique content with either AdSense or a list of products – so doing it by hand. Everything I’ve read about successful programs mentions this and it’s so true. You put the time in, you’ll do fine. The secret is picking the right keywords – no doubt.
The best keyword researching I’ve seen (and that I KNOW works) is the Keyword Academy. Cort did his research and knows how to do it – so you can bypass all the learning and concentrate on what works. It’s great.
